Its been about .5% of forever since I posted*. Maybe I should?

Had some fun yesterday ordering clothes and buying books. Mostly practical stuff, but I found time for a couple vampire/romance novels and some hair ribbons. Stuff to veg out with. :-)

My internet access is spotty now. Thus do I nearly live in one of the campus lounges, where it is excellent. But a kind former boss is letting me hook onto his wireless.

Yesterday, the big elevators between the city and the area my apartment is in were out of service! It was 2:48 in the morning, but still! The stairs beside them were locked, so there isn't an approved way up for at least fifteen blocks of walking. If you don't mind feeling like you're on a safari, and do have good shoes for it, and don't mind a few scratches, you can climb the fence and make it up the hill, I found out. I didn't have good shoes, but I made it, grumbling, anyway.

That's it for now.

*Not even with modern medicine do I expect to live past 200, and I'm not going to count time if I'm not alive. :)

hooray for Alex! Saw a comment about this at customers_suck (the third time it got posted). I can't decide which is funnier, the original, or the remix. Apparantly this person is quite upset at being called by a telemarketer. They can normally expect a justified bit of grief, but this is above and beyond, and Alex keeps his side of the conversation civil throughout.

There's more than one takeoff, but I enjoy these (a remix and the original) most.

the images are work safe, the audio is not. (it also has periodic shrieks)

6/29/06 08:37 pm - Fun and games

Hmmm, what a downpour today! I went out (finally) to get more groceries, and noticed that it was raining. Ok, I'll get a bit wet, I thought. Probably wasn't a good idea to wear sandals and socks. I can deal with this. So i was getting damp on the way down the street. Then it started getting heavier, and I stopped under a tree. Maybe I shouldn't keep going? A few seconds of that, and my jeans were soaked, my hair (mid back length) was soaked, and I hadn't gotten more than 2 blocks of the 12 or so to the store. I felt sort of like this was punishment for not shopping yesterday (was really lazy after work), so I decided to keep going.

It was fun, for a bit, because once I was this wet, I really didn't care if I splashed in puddles, etc... :)

I got tired on the way back, but hey, half the reason I go to that store is I need the excercise, so that's all right. Now I'm snuggled up in a bunch of blankets feeling all acomplished :D.

6/5/06 04:03 am - sick of work?

Wow. I tried to sleep most of yesterday, because I didn't really feel good. Cold, tired, all that stuff. Then I woke up around 11PM because I couldn't take fits and starts of sleep any more. It wasn't until 2 or 3 that I actually thought to take my temperature, and its hovering around 100.1F! Yikes! The moral of this story? Fevers make you too stupid to notice you have a fever.

Also, I'll have to skip part(at least) of work to visit the doctor's office today. I'm not sure whether I'm happy about that part or not.

5/29/06 05:00 pm - Hello :o)

Hi,

I'm still learning about Livejournal, but see all kinds of sparkly comm's and such that are friends only (partially or completely). Alas! I shall have to abandon my lurking ways, and actually make a journal if I want to join. Poor me :D.
